Who can sign up for Learn to Play?

It is recommended for a child who has no prior ice-skating experience to enroll in a “learn to skate” program, but not required.  Please visit www.spiriticearena.com to register for Learn to Skate.

Hockey 1- This class is is for the beginning player and will focus on developing the players skating skills as well as introducing puck and stick handling skills. Players with little ice skating experience are encouraged to start in the Learn to Skate to Play Hockey class. Participants MUST have basic skating skills to enroll in Hockey 1. Skaters who have never participated in a Learn to Play Hockey session at UD should begin with Hockey I and can be moved up after the first week with the coach's recommendation.

Hockey 2-This class is for players that have completed Hockey 1 or possess a similar skill level. This class will focus on strengthening the skating, puck control, and shooting skills needed to begin game play. Players age 8 or younger who have enough skill and comfort with the game are welcome to join the Cross-Ice Hockey League after passing Hockey 2.
